Before entertaining the multitudes of Americans who complain of the recent 35-day shutdown we must understand the true role of government. Many people are clueless concerning what government is actually for. There is a principled approach to state responsibility in this constitutional republic. Spoiler: it’s about protecting FREEDOM—not government paychecks.
Government Employees Are Public Servants
Federal workers get paid by the tax dollar expenses of We The People. To be completely honest, lots of so-called government jobs are unnecessary slots of fraud, waste and abuse. Regardless, legitimate and reasonable government work is for serving the nation and is not a private enterprise.
In the real world many people who work for government are just trying to keep a roof over their heads and feed their family. Totally understandable. However we are dealing with government employment that is entirely funded by the democratic republican system of taxpaying citizens.
National Security at Stake Due to Freebees
In this case, we have a border crisis, which I have explained is the result of government welfare programs at its core. If working opportunities were the only reason for coming here, an entirely different class of people would cross the border. Those looking for freebees via welfare handouts, government education, and state-funded healthcare—would turn back.
Rather, American society would be more like the early 1900s when our great-grandparents came to build a better life by WORKING HARD, which they did. It’s really that simple. There’s no bigotry involved—only common sense.
If society graduated its collective intelligence to a level based on merit rather than entitlement via ‘protected classes,’ then people would come here honorably to earn their place.
Inherent Human Rights with Responsibility
Individuality is a fundamental principle of Natural Law, and all people have the same degree of choice. Though we may not have the same genes, athletic skill, or IQ, we do have equal opportunity to decide what personal choices to make.
Whatever we decide comes automatically with consequence. The law of cause-and-effect is inseparable from our lives. Each person is responsible for him or herself, and NO ONE is obligated to care for another’s welfare unless they unjustly harmed them.
Concerning government employees, they ‘chose’ to work for the government, whether it was the only job available or not. Therefore they work for the needs of the state, which in turn is supposed to serve the needs of the people. Yeah right (pun intended).
